Understanding the Check Engine Light
The illumination of the check engine light (CEL) is never ideal, especially since the reason for it turning on isn’t clear-cut right away. The check engine light, sometimes called the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), is part of your vehicle’s onboard diagnostics system (OCD-II). The OBD-II system monitors all major components, such as the engine and transmission, through several sensors located throughout your vehicle. If it detects an issue with one of these parts, it will generate a diagnostic trouble code (DTC), store it in your vehicle’s computer system, and trigger the check engine light. Check engine light diagnostics will need to be conducted to identify the problem and necessary repairs. If your check engine light has come on, trust Ferber’s Tire & Auto Service in Ashland, Virginia! At our auto shop, our ASE-Certified technicians use advanced equipment to perform check engine light diagnostics and repair. We will get your car, truck, or SUV running like new again in no time.

The service was excellent and I will be taking my car there in the future. Great guys to work with and can be honest with the necessary recommendations for the needs of my car to keep it in good top shape condition.r Thank You 🙏
The bill for changing two small light bulbs was much too high. Other than that they seem quite thorough and professional. Their price for Michelin tires is competitive.
Service was friendly and professional. Very relaxed environment and they had my vehicle in and out within an hour. I will definitely be servicing my car here from now on.

Been coming to Ferbers for years….they are trustworthy and provide professional service every time. They stand behind their work and are very informative. Great people and great car care business.
very impressed with the front office care and customer support. We have done light work on 3 vehicles here and each was carefully handled. The courtesy inspection was thorough and there as no pressure to sell additional services. Their ability to routinely contact me via email and cell was great, and their documentation of services also thorough. My vehicles were returned without the usual smudge marks, trash or small scrap parts left lying around – so the quality control appears very high.… Read More
